Description: Fake News, alternative facts and hate speech are part of our daily lives. They are not a new phenomenon. Do you know what Fake News are and how to distinguish factual from false information? Is all false information equally damaging and manipulative? Is all Fake News equally damaging for minorities? And why is it that minorities are such a popular target of Fake News producers? In this first part of the module, you will reflect about your own experiences of consumption of Fake News by referring to your own difficulties of identifying them. In this section, you will also reflect on what your personal learning goals in terms of professional development are for this module.
